Stavanger History
A workshop built on fine craftsmanship

The workshop at Kongsgata 34 was built in 1892 by Master Cabinetmaker Nikolai Tjensvoll, behind the family home that he also built.

Nikolai was renowned throughout Stavanger for his excellent craftsmanship and was awarded a gold medal from the King of Norway in 1923 for this, and his contributions to the local community.

The workshop itself has a wonderful charm with an abundance of natural light, and is even tied together with huge dovetails! A woodworker´s dream!

It has been used for a variety of purposes over the years, but it has been my joy and privilege to return it to its intended use.

Both the workshop and house at Kongsgata 34 have been treasured in the family and are now owned and taken care of by Nikolai´s great great grandsons.
